Replacement of wheels and rails of marine towers

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The customer’s grain terminal has three marine towers used to unload grain from laker vessels and transport it to the ship. Each marine tower is supported by 40 wheels enabling it to move on rails to align itself with the various ship holds.

The project comprised three phases over 4 years, replacing the wheels and rails on the marine towers, and modernizing the electrical installation.

As experts in construction management, TEKNEMA has extensive knowledge of the health and safety procedures defined by the CNESST, ensuring that no accidents or injuries occur during the project.

For this project, TEKNEMA was the communication link between the various subcontractors working on the project and the customer. On a daily basis, TEKNEMA led two site meetings to discuss the progress of the project and the risks associated with the nature of the work.
